WHO IS NT (Part 2)

So John joined Narbil Training 6 months after it’s inception.

That had a dual benefit to the business:

* it relieved Bill & Narelle of total time spent within the business

* it provided some much needed technical expertise to the organisation.

John’s skills and ability had a positive effect on the business, which resulted in further growth!!

Noting that the business was still a 24/7 operation, John used to run the office during the day and Bill & Narelle continued to control things from 5pm – 7am (or whenever John arrived!!).

As online training continued to rise in popularity, Narbil Training also blossomed and the little semi retirement gig was becoming too much for John,  Bill and Narelle to manage.

Maintaining the original concept of Narbil being a family business, the search for a new Narbil employee therefore had to started within the extended family.

Second son Joe’s wife was busy doing her thing in Childcare, and took the brave move to change careers after no less than 10 years in the industry.

Narbil Training – A History Lesson……….

As the Narbil News (blog) kicks off on a more regular basis than previously, it’s probably a great starting point to discuss who and what is Narbil Training.

The company was started by Bill & Narelle Guinea in September 2006.

Bill was a former safety officer of 28 and a half years, whilst Narelle was a school teacher of just over 32 years.

As they were still putting their third son through university,  they were looking for a part time income to assist this cause.

After retiring before Bill,  Narelle had been a Herbalife distributor for the previous 2 years as Bill was considering what to do next.

During his last few years on site, Bill had noticed first hand the commencement of online delivery of Construction White Cards.

This lead Bill and Narelle to begin the planning of what is now Narbil Training.

The original plan was for Bill to operate and manage the white card side of things, whilst Narelle was to offer delivery of TAA qualifications.

Not only were they now working in their own areas of expertise, this business model also allowed them to work from home in this little semi retirement operation.

Initially  this planning was working extremely well – at least for the first two months!!!

Online delivery at that time was in its infancy, and as only the second deliverer on White Cards online, business exceeded all expectations. This forced Narelle to change tact and join Bill in the online department.

As any starting business person could appreciate, fear anxiousness and trepidation are never far away. For this reason, a business decision was made to operate phones 24/7.

Within 3 months, Narbil Training had blossomed beyond all expectations.

A find memory of Narelle’s from the early days was the very first day the business somehow, unbelievably, incredibly managed to sell 5 White Cards. At the time, this was a company record, huge news – who would have thought hey!!!

As 60 something’s, these hours quickly took a toll on them both.

So 6 months after commencement of Narbil Training, their youngest son John joined the operation.
