White Cards (also still known as Blue Cards) were introduced quite a while ago. There aim was to educate the growing construction industry of the potential dangers associated with the industry and how best to manage these dangers as they go about the job they have to do. No-ones safety should be effected at work because of a timeline or lack of safety knowledge, this course helps close the gap between the safety and work.

Do I need a White Card ?

This course is required by anyone who intends to enter a construction workplace or carry out construction activities. This means if you are entering a construction industry workplace just to have a meeting and are not intending to do anything else... you still need a White Card. If you are installing a new cooling tower in an old building... you still need a White Card. If you are putting up scafolding... you still need a White Card.

And that will cover just about anyone who has anything to do with construction. That is exactly what the White Card is all about, what point would this change of thinking have if it only applied to the few? Not much, safety is everyones concern, and everyone involved needs training about safety.

Where are White Cards accepted ?

The short answer is "Everywhere in Australia".

Being Nationally recognised is one of the great things about this course. Construction is everywhere and so are our workers, so this is a course you can take with you wherever you go. Some companies may go above and beyond the standards set out in the National White Card, and that can only be good. But this minimum standard of the White Card still needs to be done.
