Course Overview:
The Provide Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) qualification is a unit of competency (SITHgam006A) from the SIT07 - Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package. It has two (2) elements:
Each State has different requirements for RSG Training – Some it is mandatory, some have no requirement for the training at all. It is imperative that anyone seeking employment in the gambling industry check with the Licensing Body for the relevant State/Territory they intend to work in.

Training in responsible service of gambling is mandatory in Queensland from 1 October 2010. This training will give people working in the gaming industry skills to identify problem gambling and to provide intervention or information about gambling help services and counselling.
The training is mandatory for all people carrying out gaming duties or tasks in licensed venues in Queensland, including:
We have been accredited by the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation to offer the training. A certificate will be issued on completion of the training (and submission of all required documentation), which will be valid for three years.
If you are employed on or after 1 October 2010, you must do the training within three months of starting work.
Existing staff in Queensland have until 1 July 2011 to do training. You can apply for an extension to 1 July 2013 provided you have achieved either of the following units of competency in responsible gaming during the 12 months immediately before 1 October 2010:
Training for the course must be completed with a trainer approved by the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation – We provide this training via our Online Training Facility.
